Following his match wins at the 2024 BNP Paribas Open, Carlos Alcaraz wrote cryptic messages on the television camera lens alluding to a collaboration with Netflix.[1][2] These speculations were confirmed on 14 March 2024, when Netflix announced the production of Alcaraz, the Docuseries.[3][4][5] Filming had begun at The Netflix Slam, a televised exhibition match between Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal on 3 March 2024.[6]
