Zack Garner (born February 20, 2001) is an American professional monster truck driver who currently competes in the Monster Jam circuit, driving the Wild Side truck. A second-generation monster truck driver, Zack is the son of El Toro Loco driver Jamey Garner. His most notable achievement includes the 2024 World Finals Racing World Championship.[1][2]

Career[edit]

Zack gained inspiration for Monster Jam competition from his father, Jamey Garner, who went on tours with him as a teenager. He also looked up to fellow drivers Cole Venard and Jim Koehler for inspiration.

He began his professional driving career in 2018, driving the Wild Side truck for his father's team, Over Bored Motorsports. He began running Monster Jam events in 2020. In 2021, he replaced his father in the Over Bored truck for the third Indianapolis show, due to him suffering an injury during the second show, he would ultimately win the freestyle competition. That same year, he won the Monster Jam Rookie of the Year.

For 2022, he ran select shows in the east arena tour and the central arena tour in the Wild Side truck, finishing 6th in standings. At Virginia Beach, Garner debuted a new truck called Holeshot, running as a teammate to Jerry Buck and Dirt Crew.

Zack continued racing in the Central Arena Tour in 2023, finishing 3rd in the standings behind his teammate, Terminal Velocity.

For 2024, Zack competed in the East Arena Tour, where he tied a career-best points finish of 3rd. That year, he was invited to race in the 2024 Racing World Championship at SoFi Stadium in California.[3] After scoring the #10 qualifying spot, he showed fast pace and quickly made his way to the final round, racing against the defending champion, Tristan England and JCB DIGatron. Garner would ultimately prevail and claim his first World Finals championship, becoming the second independent driver to win a title, following Jim Creten and Bounty Hunter.[2]
