The Lycée d'Excellence de Niamey is a public secondary school, located on the right bank of the Niger River in Harobanda within the École des mines, de l'industrie et de la géologie (EMIG) near Abdou Moumouni University in Niamey, pending the completion of its own premises, an unfinished project since the school's establishment.

History[edit]

The Lycée d'Excellence de Niamey was founded by Ibrahim Baré Maïnassara in 1996 with the aim of providing the Nigerian nation with an elite in the civil domain, following the creation of the network of military Prytanées.

At the inception of the school, it was decided to temporarily install it within the EMIG until the completion of its own premises.
