Philippe Cassuto (1959 – 2020) was a French professor of Hebraic and Semitic Studies at the University of Aix-Marseille and a researcher at the Institut de recherches et d'études sur le monde arabe et musulman.[1][2]

From 1991 Cassuto holds a PhD from the Jean Moulin University Lyon 3 with the dissertation La place de l'hébreu dans le Tractatus theologico-politicus et le Compendium grammatices linguae hebraeae de baruch de Spinoza, under the tutelage of Pierre Cariou.[3][4]

Teaching[edit]

Since 1992 Cassuto has been Professor of Semitic Languages at Aix-Marseille University.[1] In 2003 he become deputy Director at the Center for Continuing Education of the Université de Provence-Aix-Marseille 1.[1]
