Signature Yashmagh (Arabic: سيجنتشر ياشماغ) is an Emirati apparel brand founded in 2019 and headquartered in Dubai, and operating in the UAE, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia.[1][2][3] The brand specializes in traditional headscarves shemagh and ghutra and their accessories, and is known for offering the white Emirati shemagh that is distinct from other headscarves in Arab countries, in a classic form like a renewed old uniform without additions or colors.[4]
History[edit]
Signature Yashmagh was co-founded in May 2019 by three Emirati classmates, Mishal AlMarzouqi, Khalid Belhoul, and Ahmed Al Hashimi. The company began offering its products on digital platforms, initially launching its store on Instagram, followed by the launch of its official website.[4][5][6] This digital presence helped the company sustain itself during the COVID-19 lockdowns in the UAE.[4]
In 2021, the company opened its first branch in Dubai Mall in collaboration with the Federal Youth Authority.[7] In the same year, Signature Yashmagh's revenue reached 2 million AED through its retail outlets, including locations in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.[1]
During Dubai's Expo 2020, Signature Yashmagh opened its sales point near Al Wasl Plaza. After the Expo concluded, the company relocated to City Centre Mirdif in 2022 and to Al Khawaneej Walk in January 2023.[8] Signature Yashmagh entered into partnerships with several retail outlets, including the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Museum of the Future, Cities Stores Dubai, and various shops in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.[8]
