Nano-ayurvedic medicine

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nano-ayurvedic medicine is an emerging field of medicine that integrates the principles of Ayurveda, the traditional Indian subcontinental system of medicine, with nanotechnology.[1] This combination allows for targeted delivery of herbal remedies at the cellular level in people's bodies, thus increasing their efficacy and removing their side effects with curing their diseases. Specifically, it aims to utilize nanoparticles (particles ranging from 1-100 nanometres in size) to increase the delivery and efficacy of Ayurvedic phytochemicals and cure all diseases with them.

Applications of Nano-ayurvedic medicine[edit]

Research on Nano-ayurvedic medicine is ongoing and it is exploring its therapeutic uses in various areas such as:

  • Cancer treatment: Studies show that nanoformulations improve the effectiveness of herbal remedies against cancer cells and kill them.[2]
