Roshni Walia (born 20 September 2002) is an Indian actress.[1] Walia began her career with television advertisements and firstly acted in television shows Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki.[2] She is also known for her work in Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap as Maharani Ajabde[3] and Tara Mane in Tara From Satara on Sony Entertainment Television.[4]

Early life[edit]

Roshni Walia was born on 20 September 2002[5][6] in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India. She lives in Mumbai. Her mother is Sweety Walia.[7] She has an older sister, Noor Walia.[8] Walia's maternal grandfather was an army officer.[9]

Career[edit]

Roshni Walia began her career in the entertainment industry with television commercials. She made her television debut in 2012 with the Life OK drama series Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki, portraying the character Jiyana. In the same year, she appeared in the film My Friend Ganesha 4, playing the role of Lucky.

In 2013, Walia continued her rise in television by playing Maitri in Life OK's drama series Ringa Ringa Roses''. That year, she also featured in Balika Vadhu – Kacchi Umar Ke Pakke Rishte as Young Ganga and Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev as Teenage Sita.

2014 was a pivotal year for Walia. She took on the historical role of young Maharani Ajabde Punwar, the first wife of Maharana Pratap, in the acclaimed series Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap. This performance earned her a nomination for Best Child Actor - Female at the 13th Indian Telly Awards. Additionally, she featured in the youth crime drama series Gumrah: End of Innocence'', portraying Aarohi in the third season.

In 2015, Walia played the character Survi in Zee TV's Yeh Vaada Raha.

In 2019, she brought life to the character Tara Mane in Tara From Satara on Sony TV.

Walia's filmography includes roles in Machhli Jal Ki Rani Hai (2014) as Guddi, Gangs of Littles (2016) as Benjir Kaif, Firangi (2017) as Nimmo, and I Am Banni (2019) where she played the titular role, Banni.

Walia has also appeared in music videos, including "Kudi Badi Cutie" by Yolo (2022), "Silli Silli" by Rochak Kohli and Danish Sabri (2023), and "Dil Paagal" by Laqshay Kapoor (2024).

Throughout her impressive career, Walia has earned nominations and accolades, including a nomination for Best Child Actor - Female at the Indian Telly Awards for her role in Maharana Pratap.
