Fred Meyers is an American business executive.[1] He is the founder and the current president of the Queensboro Shirt Company.[2][3][4]

Biography[edit]

Born in the United States, Meyers was educated at Staples High School in Westport, Connecticut.[5] Later, he attended Columbia University, where he received a BA in history and subsequently an MBA in 1983.[5]

As a college student, Meyers founded the Queensboro Shirt Company in 1982 in New York.[6][7][8]

In 1995, Meyers relocated his company's headquarters from New York to Wilmington, North Carolina.[9][10] There, he established his company's operations in a renovated 100,000-square-foot building on 13th Street, which dated back to the 1950s.[1]

In August 2010, his company received an order for 9,000 embroidered shirts and hats from Chief John Nwodo in Enugu, Nigeria, in preparation for the city's 100th-anniversary celebration.[11]

In the same year, Meyers introduced Zap Tee, an iPhone application that allows users to select or upload images for shirt printing on Queensboro's platform.[12]
