Surak is a village in Bhulath Tehsil in Kapurthala district of Punjab State, India. It is located 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) from Bhulath, 21 kilometres (13 mi) away from district headquarter Kapurthala. The village is administrated by a Sarpanch, who is an elected representative.

Demography[edit]

According to the report published by Census India in 2011,Surak has 123 houses with the total population of 549 persons of which 280 are male and 269 females. Literacy rate of Surak is 78.40%, higher than the state average of 75.84%. The population of children in the age group 0–6 years is 63 which is 11.48% of the total population. Child sex ratio is approximately 853, higher than the state average of 846.[1]
