The Canon EOS R1 (development announced on 15 May 2024)[1] is Canon's upcoming full-frame mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera. Canon states that the EOS R1 will be its first flagship EOS R System model.[2][3]

According to the official press release[1], the EOS R1 will feature:

  • a new ‘DIGIC Accelerator’ image processor that supplements the existing DIGIC X processor
  • a new CMOS sensor
  • deep learning technology
  • improved subject recognition and tracking accuracy
  • improved noise reduction.

Canon intends to launch the EOS R1 in 2024.[1][4]
